History of Louis XV French Mantle Clocks

The Louis XV style French Ormolu Rococo gilt bronze mantle clock emerged in the 18th century, reflecting the opulence of King Louis XV's reign. Known for its intricate designs, these clocks featured lavish ornamentation with curves, scrolls, and natural motifs. The use of ormolu, a gold-colored alloy, enhanced their luxurious appeal. These clocks are celebrated for their craftsmanship and artistic elegance, symbolizing the grandeur of French decorative arts during the Rococo period.
